Why Drinking Beer In This Church Isn’t A Sin
Colorado Springs has a new taproom- and it’s far from usual! Green Man Taproom & Beer Garden opened their doors in early March and have been growing since. Located in an old church just south of the immediate downtown Colorado springs area, Green Man delivers a funky spin on the traditional taproom with walls draped in long tapestries, arched windows and ceilings, and the traditional feel of a church. But placed smack in the middle where one would expect pews to be lined, Green Man has placed a monumental tap and bar! Currently, they have over 40 beers available to indulge in. Want to sample one before you pick? They will give you a sip in a little communion cup. If you have a sweet tooth, one beer worth trying is the Death By Coconut brewed by Oskar Blues in Longmont, CO. But don’t stop there! With choices from blondes to porters, you’ll never have to try the same one twice and Green Man is constantly bringing in new brews. They also have a fabulous wine list and a small food menu as well.
Tired of going to bars and seeing people glued to their phones? Green Man has come up with an alternative to the social media addiction. Classic notepads line the bar for visitors to draw and write in as the sip their brews. Reading through them is a hoot! Green Man also plans to create a great beer garden along side the building – plans are in the works! Who doesn’t love enjoying a good, cold beer and friends in the hot sun? They also have occasional live music! Green Man Taproom & Beer Garden is doing something different in Colorado Springs and it’s not going unnoticed.
