For those that have seen Estes Park, you know just how beautiful the surrounding town’s mountains really are. If you haven’t been to this fantastic getaway, we’ve come up with a great excuse for you to check it out! Strap on your running shoes- it’s time to hit the trail!

Estes Park is working on creating a name for itself as America’s Trail Running destination. This year they’re hosting the 2nd Annual Trail Running Conference USA and the Estes Trail Ascent over the weekend of October 9th-12th. This event brings together industry leaders, retailers and runners of all levels.  Thursday October 9 is for Trail Race Directors, and Friday October 10 and Saturday October 11 are for Trail Runners. Sunday October 12 rounds off the weekend with a trail race on a local Estes Park trail.  It’s $25 for individual day sign up and $45 for both Friday and Saturday races.

And what better place to explore the trails than a gorgeous mountain town, located right next to the Rocky Mountain National Forest? The Estes Valley and Rocky Mountain National Park host more than 130 individual paths that climb from 7,522 feet to 14,255 feet and total 355 miles. That’s a lot of ground to cover. How much will you see on your trail run?
