Thin Mints for Grown Ups: Mountain Sun’s Girl Scout Stout

Thin Mints for Grown Ups: Mountain Sun’s Girl Scout Stout

Everyone looks forward to the time of the year when Girl Scout cookies are available for purchase. It doesn’t matter what age you are, the excitement still builds when you see these amazing cookies hit the streets. Homebrewer Adam Boggs uses the chocolate mint cookies as inspiration to create the Girl Scout Stout for Mountain Sun Pub & Brewery in celebration of National Stout Month.

Girl Scout Stout is for anyone who loves Thin Mints and beer. This beer is very easy drink. It has a nice roasted malt and chocolate aroma. The mint flavor appears at the end of your sip, with just a hint of bitterness.

This stout beer is perfect for the February weather in Colorado. Some people fear that stouts are too heavy, but I would say that this stout is a little bit lighter in body. My recommendation would be to drink this beer as a snack in the afternoon or as your dessert after a great meal.

Here is some more information on this delicious treat:

Malt: Domestic Pale 2-Row, Roasted Barely, Chocolate Malt, Carafa

Hops: Fuggle

ABV: 5.7%

The Girl Scout Stout is absolutely delightful and I recommend that you stop by and try it during National Stout Month. This beer will only be available for a limited time and just like Girl Scout cookies, it will be gone soon.
