Feel that fine breeze sweeping through the barren trees? That’s fall. And we think that to make up for the beginning of the cold weather, you should take a dip in some hot springs! So we will begin a mini pop-up series featuring great Colorado hot springs that will help shake off the chills.

First hot springs on our list:

Strawberry Hot Springs in Steamboat

Imagine relaxing in 104 degree mineral water while Steamboat’s famous Champagne Powder gently collects in the surrounding forest. Enjoy a massage in one of the beautiful private massage huts or a watsu therapy in a private pool. These hot springs are secluded and absolutely beautiful- and not too far from the local lift! Check this place out :)

Pumpkin Beer Month Sun, 01 Nov 2015 18:27:54 +0000 Photo from Google

Yes, we know it’s November first, but it’s only right to provide you with at least one more local brew packed full of the pumpkin flavor. It is still fall.

So, we were thinking a little treat from Avery Brewing Company was in store! After 6 months in dark rum barrels,  the Rumpkin Ale emerges a deep, rich amber color, plump full of spicy gourdiness. The taste of roasted pumpkins from a local Boulder County farm create a great base flavor, but then there’s nutmeg, cinnamon and ginger added to top it off.

Of course this is a limited availability brew so get your paws on it while you can! It’s well worth it.

October- Pumpkin Beer Month! Wed, 21 Oct 2015 17:18:43 +0000 Image from Google

How could we ever forget the wonderful concoctions of New Belgium Brewery, our beloved hometown treat providers? Of course they have developed an ale meant to tease the tastebuds and remind our hearts of the festival fall season.

The Pumpkick Spiced Seasonal Ale makes you not only say “yum!”, but begs the question “what is that bite of tartness doing in my pumpkin flavored beer?”.  Well, my friends, that would be the cranberry juice and lemongrass New Belgium has added to brighten the traditional seasonal ale. Sometimes running across the unexpected is a delight! There is still plenty of pumpkin juice, cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice to round off the taste of this 6% ABV beer.

New Belgium does it again!

Have you ever gotten your hands on a Venetucci Pumpkin Ale? Very few lucky beer lovers have. That’s because this beer is released by Bristol Brewery of Colorado Springs in small batches during the fall season. Only 22 oz bombers are available at select liquor stores and it has limited availability at the brewery on the day of release.

Now, why would we be telling you about a beer that is so hard to get your hands on? Because it is purely made of liquid deliciousness. It is a deep red ale with medium body and a 5.8% ABV. We look for a bit of sweetness and spices in our pumpkin beers, giving it a feeling of fall- Venetucci does just that.

The best part about this beer? 100% of the proceeds go to the Venetucci family farm, which donated millions of pumpkins to the children of Colorado Springs in the 6 years they ran the farm. The owner donated the farm to the Pikes Peak Community Foundation just before passing away so that children would continue not to go empty handed each fall.

Nothing is better than drinking a good beer in honor of a good cause.

Cheers to the Venetucci family and their malty treat!

In the spirit of the season, it would only be appropriate to speak about beer made with pumpkin the entire month of October. That seems to be the best way to handle the pumpkin craze.
Let’s start with one of our favorites: Eddyline Brewing in Buena Vista’s fantastic Pumpkin Patch Ale. Brewed with real pumpkins, spices and honey, this ale is the perfect way to refresh after the season’s harvest. Or to sip on while enjoying the aspens abound. Sweet (but not too sweet) and easy to drink, you’d be doing yourself a favor by trying out this rich stuff.
